Welcome to the Compost Bin

Composting is a natural process that converts organic materials into a valuable soil amender you can use to improve the health of your garden.  Besides being the best possible soil fertilizer available, composting also reduces the amount of waste going to our landfills - a step towards helping the environment by reducing green-house gases.

Compost is made easily by collecting your leaves, kitchen scraps (see below), and grass clippings in a pile or bin.

Need some help getting started?  We can do a consultation to teach you all you need to know to compost.

Contrary to popular belief, composters do not, if used and maintained properly, attract wildlife into your yard.  The key is to add only the proper kitchen scraps and keep it maintained properly.

Interesting stuff you might not know

  • Man is not the weaver of the web of life he is merely a strand in it.

  • A "weed" is just a plant where it is not wanted.
